About

My metal sculpture is inspired by the natural world and our connection to it: patterns and variations of the plants, stone, sunlight, and water. Starting from a general sketch, I let the piece evolve organically as I work. Pieces offer different flows that engage you as you decide which visual path to take through the piece.

My landscape sculptures interact with the wind and the rain. I encourage clients to rearrange elements of the pieces and become part of a dynamic an ongoing creative process.

About 15 years ago, I started making pieces for family and friends. Recently retired from a long career in technology, metalworking has become a larger part of my life now and so has making my work available to a broader audience. I’ve studied at Fire Arts and the Chicago Industrial Arts and Design Center artist collectives and the Art Institute of Chicago Ox-Bow campus.

I’ve converted my barn on the Kalamazoo river into a studio near Saugatuck and Douglas Michigan which is open by appointment.
